I’ve tried many tutors both online and in person, but Shunsuke-sensei is the first who really fits my learning style. I’m studying for the N2, but I often forget the basics, which makes me feel insecure, anxious, and overall have been a mental setback for me on my learning journey. However, Shunsuke-sensei listens patiently and lets me finish my thoughts instead of stopping me mid-sentence. Then he corrects me in a way that helps me understand where I was wrong or what mistake I made midway that may have altered my message. It is also a bonus that he’s a language learner himself and can empathizes and relate with the struggles students may be going through. One thing I especially appreciate about his classes is that when we go through JLPT grammar from the textbooks, he emphasizes which grammar structures are actually used in real life and which ones are outdated or mostly just appear in textbooks. That kind of insight has been incredibly helpful, especially since I want to focus on speaking naturally. If you’re looking for a tutor who meets you at your level and helps you build confidence while learning practical Japanese, I highly recommend Shunsuke-sensei.

Check out Shunsuke Sensei! He speaks English, Portuguese, and Spanish, and has lived in many countries, so he really gets what it’s like to learn a new language and culture. If you’re into a fun, relaxed way of learning with someone who understands different backgrounds, you should definitely give him a shot!
