Hello! I am Osman, a Swahili teacher. I have been teaching the Swahili language for nine years. I am here to help you enjoy learning this beautiful language. Together, we will explore Swahili in a fun and engaging way. Welcome to my classes! Goodbye!

I have taught Kiswahili for many years, at various levels. I hold a Master's degree in Swahili language and literature at the University of Dar es Salaam and a Bachelor's in Kiswahili and Sociology from the University of Ghana. My teaching style is all about communication and keeping students engaged with varied resources. I prioritize creating a supportive learning environment tailored to individual student needs. Osman is a knowledgeable and supportive teacher who is a native speaker and it helps since he explains real life scenarios and ways that you might face i. Real life. He explains the “why” behind the language clearly and always addresses my questions when i ask. And he explains the reason to why sometimes people might use certain phrases or words for a specific reason. He’s flexible, easy to reach, and sets a clear plan for each lesson, which really helps me stay on track. If you’re serious about learning Swahili, he’s definitely the right person to learn with.

This is my second lesson with Osman and I really enjoy learning from him because he has so much patience and he makes it really simple to learn by breaking down words and sentence structures; he even explains the origin of the Kiswahili words. I have learned more in the 2 sessions of being taught by Osman than I have on the app Duo Lingo for the past year! lol... I am so excited and am truly looking forward to our next scheduled session.

I have been trying to learn Kiswahili for a while now. I felt at some point that I was all over place and not really making substantial progress because I was doing it alone. Until I found my tutor Osman. Osman is friendly, professional and his classes are well structured. He really helps me get more confident and understanding how the language works. Osman is by far the best Swahili teacher I have ever had! None of my 3 previous tutors showed as much understanding and dedication during teaching process. He is very professional, exceptionally patient and above all- he can explain complicated concepts and rules in a simple and easy to understand way. Osman is a highly patient and professional teacher. The lessons are always well prepared and not repetitive at all. It is a good mix of grammar lessons, translating, and every day use of the language. Osman's lessons will definitely challenge you but he provides great support to solve those challenges, which inevitably will lead to progress in your language learning journey.
