About me

Why not practise your French on a regular basis with sessions adapted to your agenda? I am a French/Swiss artist, lived in New York (moved here in May 2018). My artworks are often exhibited internationally. I keep my schedule updated regularly and I am flexible. I'm now back in France since summer 2020. I live in Strasbourg, on the border with Germany. I enjoy tutoring both beginners and advanced students. I have a wide range of subjects and continuously create new ones.

I studied French literature and visual arts, which allows me to offer a rich, creative, and culturally grounded teaching approach. As an artist, I often include creative elements in my lessons to make learning more engaging and inspiring.

Zahra is very kind and nice. However, I don't think her way of teaching is suitable for me. If your goal is to improve your skills in grammar or your pronunciation, she could be suitable for you. She send a link to a French exercise platform and does the exercise with you. Honestly, I don't like this way of teaching, since I believe one can do that kind of exercise alone. Even if I told her that my goal was to do speaking, I did't speak much during our lesson. Anyway, I think is depending on that are you looking for.

Zahra is a really attentive teacher. Every week she offers me new speaking, listening, or reading exercises. I had asked for some homework exercises. She provided those as well. For the most part, these exercises introduce new vocabulary and I find that they are suitable for my level of French (around B1). With Zahra's help, I have identified some issues with my grammar and we will work on these issues in the future. Overall, I think Zahra is flexible and can easily address the needs of her different students!

I’ve had two lessons with Zahra so far. I asked her to focus purely on speaking as I’m already working on grammar, just need to finally break the barrier and start speaking and it’s great to have a native speaker help me out with this. She is incredibly patient, explains my mistakes thoroughly and uses phrases I might need on a day-to-day basis. Above that, she has a great personality and generally very nice. Would definitely recommend her to other students.

I took the first lesson from Zahra.. She is enthusiastic and eager to motivate the student. She is friendly and I feel comfortable in talking to her. When we were talking about the French dish which I had eaten at the restaurant in Paris, she instantly showed the image how it was cooked. During the lesson, I could learn more about French dishes besides conversation. She is a highly recommendable tutor. I quickly decided to continue her lesson. Thank you, Zahra.

I have taken five classes with Zahra, and I think my French is improving as a result. The lessons include many exercises and discussions on a variety of topics. Zahra uses popular media, audio, and classic texts during lessons. Zahra lets you shape your learning to achieve your goals, but she also gives you advice to help you. She is very patient, and she finds many ways to explain a concept if you do not understand it. I highly recommend her to be your French tutor!

Zahra is an excellent teacher. Having had some French lessons decades ago I would consider myself an absolute beginner. However Zahra was able to tell within a couple of lessons that I had more of an understanding than even I though. Besides her teaching abilities Zahra is also extremely pleasant and our lessons have all be fun. I recommend her completely.

Practise your French with online sessions adapted to your agenda. These can be 15 min or 2hr long a daily basis for example. I am a native French speaker, lived all my life in France and I moved to New York a couple of months ago.We can also work on a new type of lessons I've been starting to do: those start with reading some texts of different sources (different styles and complexity) and going through them explaining specific words (no translating!!!!) . I then continue on with some conversation related to those texts and end up having a great conversation. Can't wait to share those with you !!!Bonjour! Ça fait maintenant plus d'un an que je suis tuteure sur Preply et j'ai rencontré grand nombre d'élèves. Certains pour des cours de diction, d'autres pour de la conversation et d'autres encore pour de la grammaire... Je veux dire, j'adapte le contenu du cours en fonction des besoins. J'ai commencé un nouveau type de cours basé sur du contenu que j'ai créé, avec des articles à lire et des sujets autant variés qu'intéressants.
