Hello, my name is Luis and I come from Venezuela. I currently live in Bogota, Colombia. My mother tongue is spanish. I have degrees in math and physics. I have worked as a university professor in the fields of mathematics, physics, geometry, and mathematical analysis for over 12 years. I have also been teaching Spanish as a freelance teacher for over 4 years to people from different cultures and backgrounds, gaining experience to help anyone who wants to learn Spanish, such as grammar, vocabulary, language, reading and listening, writing and speaking, all subject. My 12 year-old son has weekly Skype lessons with Senor Galeno to supplement his Spanish learning at school. These sessions with Senor Galeno have been extremely valuable to my son - he was exposed to Spanish just a few months ago and today, he is able to converse confidently in, and outside of, his Spanish class, and able to read and write paragraphs of some depth! The Preply lessons clearly helped reinforce the learning at school. Senor Galeno is also very creative in his teaching approach - apart from prepared (interactive) presentations, he also engages in active conversation in Spanish (hobbies, school activities, food preferences, music bands etc.). He is also able to work off of my son's textbook and review the day's lesson with him or even teach ahead, as needed. My son's confidence in the new language is because of this online assistance, and I'd recommend Senor Galeno without any hesitation!

Luis is an incredible teacher. I highly recommend him. I have done several lessons with him so far and look to forward to continuing for many more. He really takes the time to focus on areas that I feel like I need the most work on as well as provides feedback on things that he picks up on during our lessons. The exercises we do are targeted, and I've already seen improvement in just a short time. I definitely recommend Luis as a tutor!

Luis is a fantastic tutor, and I thoroughly enjoy our lessons. We typically use the lesson time to converse, but he is always greatly prepared with more formal lessons should the need arise. I have been learning from Luis for over a month now and plan to continue doing so for the foreseeable future. Luis is very kind, patient, and great at facilitating learning. I thoroughly enjoy my lessons with Luis! He teaches in a way that really helps me learn. We do exercises and we speak in Spanish for most of the lesson. It's very customized, and he's able to speak to me in ways that I understand. If I don't understand something he says, he makes sure to elaborate and also puts it in the chat so that I can spell and read it too. Our lessons have been great!

Luis is an incredible teacher. In our first lesson, he realized immediately what I personally needed to do in order to take my Spanish to the next level. He is patient and very encouraging. He also knows how to teach things in a way that makes them stick with you (it's one thing to learn a rule, it's another to remember it!). I highly recommend Luis.Erwin

The teacher, Mr. C., understands my needs very well. The mix of reading and grammar is well balanced. I read interesting texts and we analyzed my pronunciation and did sentence analysis. Where necessary, I receive immediate feedback on the mistakes made. The grammar exercises are very well balanced between theory and practice. I highly recommend this teacher.
