About me

Are you looking for an enthusiastic and experienced teacher who can help you achieve your English language goals? Then I could be the one for you.

I have over twenty years teaching experience in Italy where I have taught students of all ages and all levels.

A lot of my work is teaching general English from complete beginners through to proficiency, I have prepared students for international exams such as IELTS. TOEFL, FCE and Proficiency.

If you need to improve your business English, I have done over eighty company courses, teaching a wide variety of specific business skills such as sales and negotiating, telephoning, accountancy and wage rolls, marketing, logistics and also English for technicians.

I have also done courses for specific purposes including medicine and law.

I don't teach anyone under 18 years old online, sorry.

Conversational English

More than twenty years teaching experience, I get my students talking, I don't interrupt them but make a note of their correct use and incorrect use of English and do correction at the end of the lesson.

Business English

I would say that at least 30% of my work is business English and I teach everything from sales and purchasing, telephone English, logistics, human resources, e-mails, contracts and negotiations.

IELTS

i have prepared a number of students for the IELTS exam, so far all have passed.

English for work

I have done over forty company courses as well as teaching in professional training institues for apprentices. I have also taught technicians and manual workers who are being sent abroad technical English which included everything from the names of tools through to health and safety at work.

English for beginners

I love teaching beginners, it's great to see progress being made right from the start.

Intensive English

I have done several intensive courses taking students to Scotland for full immersion as well as intensive courses here in Italy for students with exam deadlines.

For everyday use

Extensive experience teaching people the basics from going shopping, restaurant language, asking and understanding directions, hotels etc.

British English

I'm a native speaker.

English for kids

I have five years teaching experience with kids from 6 to 14 years of age.

English for traveling

A high request for this type of English who want to learn survival Enlish for a short holiday or to brush up their existing English.

TOEFL

I have prepared students for TOEFL exams with success.

English job interview prep

This has been another part of my job where I have prepared students for an interview and then praticed mock interviews with them. I go through the process from applying for a job, the cv, the interview and then feedback.

Cambridge ESOL: FCE, CAE, CPE...

Have done preparation for all these exams, extensive experience especially with FCE and Ielts.

English for professionals

Have done several courses of English for medicine, Legal English, English for Accountants, Technical English for technicians

English homework help.

A common request in the summer months when students have to resit exams.

For studying abroad

Preparation for IELTS courses as well as cultural awreness activities if students are going to an Anglo Saxon country.

General English

probably the biggest part of my job, teaching all levels from 1 to 1 to groups of up to 20 students.

I have done several courses in banks in the area where I live, Udine, Italy.

FCE

I have prepared many students for First Certificate.

CAE

I have taught a number of student s who have gone on to take this exam.

Paul is a teacher who is attentive to the needs of his students. He always manages to adapt the lessons based on the expected level of growth and to work until the target has been reached. He is also very patient and funny he goes over the concept until you understand it. He works a lot on your critical issues and does it with simplicity. He lets you speak and corrects you when the time is right so you are able to remember your mistakes, but above all not to make them next time. I highly recommend him to anyone who plans to improve their English. He takes care of your growth so I recommend him.

Paul is just an English teacher that everyone should have because he knows how to teach. He teaches you not by chatting but he makes you follow the topics you need to improve on a book. He also manages to make the complicated lessons just right for your level. He has a deep knowledge of English and grammar and is able to answer any technical questions. Furthermore, precisely because he loves his work, he listens to you and interacts carefully during the lessons. Thank you Paul I have been looking for a real English teacher for a long time!

I just wanted to find someone to speak English with and I was so lucky to find Paul on this platform. He is the perfect teacher for my needs because he lets me speak a lot and he is also very precise in pointing out what are the areas of English knowledge I can improve the most (vocabulary, grammar, use of the verb get, etc.). He is a very patient and good talker, and when it comes to the grammar rules he always shows examples from English books full of idiomatic phrases and useful exercises.

I recommend Paul as a teacher because he has a really good method of teaching English. He never interrupts me when I try to express a concept in English and at the end of each lesson he corrects my mistakes and my pronunciation but in a very gentle way. Paul is very, very patient. He is a great tutor, understanding my needs and making a suitable programme to help me reach my goals. He has helped me get over my language barrier! Our lessons are never boring and always different! I really recommend Paul to everyone!

I have been taking lessons with Paul for about 5 months now and my level has really improved. As a teacher he is very patient and clear in his explanations; moreover, he also provides students with very high level materials for learning English, interesting and challenging at the right level to improve step by step.
